Don’t Shoot!

Dylan-Roof

Church. A place of worship and reverence. A place where if yuh black in America, instead of communion and holy water, yuh get a .45 caliber slug in yuh chest from a 21 year old white man yuh never met before.

The Roof, the Roof is on fire, and we truly don’t need any water… let that motherf*#@er burn. Dylann Roof that is.

Wednesday night, June 17th at one of the United States’ oldest black churches humanity took two steps back. A bible study led by Reverend Clementa Pinckny at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church became scene to the largest mass murder at an American place of worship. All nine victims were black. The gunman, Dylann Roof still alive and serving no other purpose than to supply carbon dioxide for trees to inhale , was charged with the murders and put on a million dollars bail. Maybe if he had shot and killed ten more African Americans he would have gotten the same 10 million dollar bale as Suge Knight. Oh well. So it goes in Yankee town.

On the 22nd of June, in response to the racially motivated shooting, thousands of people both black and white protested at the South Carolina State Capitol building for the removal of the Confederate flag-if yuh seen Django Unchained is the flag used by the KKK. It is still flown in front the South Carolina State Capitol building and across many southern states. That big bad shutta, who opened fire on defenseless Fathers, Mothers, Grandmothers and children, is also seen on the web posing with the flag.

On Sunday 21st, four days after the shooting, the church had it first sermon since the tragedy. Church goers extended into the parking lot.

The only way for evil to triumph is for good people to sit down and do nothing

“The only way for evil to triumph is for good people to sit down and do nothing” said Reverend Goff during his sermon. That is a passport statement that can go to Trinidad & Tobago, and the Caribbean, and the world and stay without need for deportation.

Today the United states legalized gay marriage nationwide, and yet we still deal with rampant racism. Like gay marriage being illegal in certain states, RACISM should be a thing of the past. One Love.
