MET Gala Memes

For those of you not particularly into fashion or religiously following celebrity events, we’re sure that even if you’ve never heard of the Met Gala, by now you’ve heard of the ridiculous outfits donned by a few A-list celebrities to attend the big event last Monday. The Met Gala is a fundraising function to raise money for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, more recently known for being the event that Solange, Beyonce and Jay Z went to prior to the infamous elevator fight. So naturally, dozens of memes have been popping up all over the internet poking fun at celebrities and their daring and over-the-top outfits. There’s a theme every year and this year the attendees made their own attempt to reflect the theme, China: Through the Looking Glass.
