The writing is on the wall for the following hashtags, it’s time to hang them up.

For all the smart phone users out there. We have been bombarded by these tags for the past year or so. People just need to STOP using them all together! If you check your feed on Twitter, Instagram and now even Facebook you are sure to come across one of these.

Here is our list so far.

#nonewfriends – Are you an adult? This really just makes no sense. As we go through the course of life you are going to meet new people and develop new friendships and relationships. So just stop with that!

#Selfie – This may be nitpicking but from what we understand a “selfie” is a picture you take of yourself with your phone or camera right? So how the hell can you use the tag if it’s a picture of you clearly taken by someone else, or worse, it’s a picture of you and someone else and you tag it as a selfie! WTF? Oh, and if you’re a straight man and taking “selfies” … secretly you are gay! That takes us to our next hashtag.

#Swag - It’s alleged that this term was used in posters back in the 60′s and 70′s by promoters of gay parties. It told those who knew what it meant, Secretly We Are Gay. Seems legit enough to me! So Just stop!
