The Chief Justice’s suggestion to decriminalize small amounts of marijuana is sparking debate in many quarters. Already police officers are welcoming the suggestion. The Police Social and Welfare Association is agreeing with Justice Archie. General Secretary Michael Seales says in other jurisdictions persons found in possession of marijuana sticks are either cautioned or ticketed by the police.
