Looks like our Vine stay was short and sweet.

Facebook just announced video for Instagram, similar to Twitter’s Vine app.

The major difference is, unlike Vine’s 6 second clips, Instagram is 15 secs and you can use existing video. Also, there are 13 brand new filters to choose from, something Vine does not have.

You can also select your own custom preview thumbnail, which is what your followers will see in their Instagram feed. Hashtags work just the same way, but when you click the thumb, it’s video.

Sidenote: you have to update the Instagram app to see the changes.
